Bashkir Power Grid Company (BPGC) provides power transmission services and is a leader by a number of industrial indicators. The company's assets comprise distribution and transmission grids located in Bashkortostan.
In terms of transmission capacity, BPGC ranks as a top-10 power grid company in Russia, leading among other territorial grid operators (TGOs) within IDGCs by the total length of power lines and by the number of substations, transformer and distribution substations. BPGC's priorities include consolidation of power grid assets in Bashkortostan.
Last year, Bashkirenergo (a subsidiary of BPGC) became the first energy company in Russia that switched to 10-year RAB regulation. RAB-based regulation has a number of advantages for the power grid company, the consumers and for the Republic in general, including stimulation of cost-cutting, major investments combined with a moderate tariff, an opportunity to make long-term development plans for power grid companies, and improving the grid companies' services and predictability of power supply tariffs, which is important for the consumers.
