In March 2013, SSTL resolved the issue surrounding licenses that arose in the course of the crisis in the Indian telecom market. SSTL obtained 3 frequency carriers in 8 circles and continued developing its business in 9 Indian circles with the highest economic potential: Rajasthan, Delhi, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh (West), Kolkata, West Bengal, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka.
SSTL's subscriber base is ca. 9m subscribers. Over 50% of the operator's revenue comes from data transfer, which is the highest figure in the Indian telecom market. SSTL's high-speed data transmission services are available in 850 towns and cities across 9 circles.
SSTL's key strategic goal in 2015 is to reach a break-even point in terms of OIBDA. In order to achieve this goal, SSTL will focus on enhancing the data transfer segment, active monetisation of voice services and reduction of the company's expenses.
