Sarov Technopark is a joint project of Sistema, Rosatom, and Rusnano pursuing innovations for national economic development using scientific and technological capabilities of the Russian Federal Nuclear Centre-VNIIEF (RFNC-VNIIEF), Sistema, Rusnano, and other high-tech companies.
Building and commercialising world- and national-class breakthrough technologies using the competences of RFNC-VNIIEF, Sistema, Rusnano, and other hi-tech companies on a public private partnership basis.
Sarov Technopark's unique competences are shaped by its shareholders—Sistema, Rosatom, and Rusnano—as well as its partner RFNC-VNIIEF, joining efforts to develop innovations.
New challenges faced by Rosatom and RFNC-VNIIEF testify to the need to commercialise scientific potential and develop non-military products. This requires strong commercial partners capable of making technological solutions competitive and bringing them to markets. This is where Sistema and Rosnano come in. Sistema, being an owner of several large hi-tech companies, gives a new impetus to the park's development and facilitates commercialisation of non-military solutions designed by RFNC-VNIIEF. Rusnano's presence allows the partners to find innovation projects and use them for building new successful companies.
The park is managed by JSC Sarov Technopark tasked with developing infrastructure, creating favourable conditions for residents, finding new projects and companies, business incubation, venture capital financing, and consulting.
The park is the venue of the Rosatom-Sistema Science and Production Cluster, a public private financing programme that is unique to Russia. It enables using public funds for capital expenditure provided that a resident company co-finances the same project. The programme has already raised RUB 1.6bn to finance 16 innovation projects.
Another programme targets early-stage projects requiring venture capital financing.
